Mari Lwyd

Mari Lwyd refers to a Welch Christmas tradition of wassailing with horse skull decorated with ribbons, evergreens and holly in place of its mane. If the ghostly caroling horse comes to your house it is good luck but you traditionally must initially refuse them entry to your house before eventually allowing them in.

My representation of this concept show the whole horse as a ghost skeleton with all hair replaced by ribbons and greenery. I hope you enjoy my version. Click on the images below to you are interested in any of the products.
